Jackets rally for 6-3 win at Bell

John Millett scored the tying run on a wild pitch and eighth-grader Tyler McCullough put the Jackets ahead to stay with an RBI single in the sixth inning as Middlesboro defeated Bell County 6-3 on Tuesday to complete a sweep of the home-and-home series.Senior Lucas Crawford pitched all seven innings to get the win. He scattered seven hits and only one of the runs he allowed was earned. Crawford was efficient as he needed just 86 pitches in the complete game. He struck out four without walking a batter.

 

LMU’s Coker named SAC Player of Year

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Lincoln Memorial University senior outfielder Josh Coker was christened as the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year, headlining a list of four Railsplitters arrayed with postseason accolades. Along with Coker, who also earned All-SAC second team as a reliever, Kelvin Brito and Jean Rodriguez were named to the All-SAC second team while Kyle Floyd was an honorable mention selection.
