Aileen Ramsey Earle, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, wife of Frank M. Earle, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was born near Shawanee, Tennessee on April 20, 1930 at her family’s farm on Station Creek. She was the youngest and last surviving child of the late Steven Edgar Ramsey and Nelle Rose Ball Ramsey. She was a 1948 graduate of Forge Ridge High School and played on the girl’s basketball team. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Before her illness, she was an active member of Covenant (First) United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and other social and service organizations in Middlesboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Shoffner and Mildred Ely, and her brothers, Bradley Ramsey and Tommy Ramsey.

Survivors include her husband of over 65 years, Frank M. Earle, sons F. Michael Earle (Brenda), Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and David Ramsey Earle, Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Sarah Earle Coast (Justin) and Wayne M. Earle; and great-grandchildren Brendan Earle and Brooklyn Coast; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives; special friends Dewey and Marie Partin, and other friends. The family wishes to recognize the staff of Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation Center for their generous and thoughtful care giving during Mrs. Earle’s time there.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2013 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. with nephew, Stephen Earle presiding. Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
