The National Hall of Fame for Mountain Artisans’ planning committee will host their first Mountain Music Showcase in the Helen and Cawood Smith Auditorium located on the Harlan campus of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College at 6 p.m. on Nov. 9.
“The Mountain Music Showcase will feature inspirational and toe-tapping gospel music by local musicians,” said Music Director Connie Helton. “The mountain artisans performing include a popular family group and individual vocalists from across Harlan County.”
Tickets for the event will be $3 per person. Proceeds benefit the National Hall of Fame for Mountain Artisans.
The music showcase will include talent from featured vocalists Ashley Bledsoe, of Harlan, and Sarah Harrison, of Rosspoint, who performed in the recent county-wide Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College’s popular “Higher Ground” plays.
Also included in the headliner group are Aarin, Beth and Jason Collett, of Cawood, Connie Helton, Pat Robbins and William Uhrig, all of Harlan.
Sound will be provided by Obie and Laura Brock, also of Harlan.
“We’re very excited about being able to showcase talent from across the county,” said Helton. “We hope everyone will mark their calenders for Nov.9 and make plans to attend the event.”
