Architects from RossTarrant were present at the Bell County School Board meeting to discuss the ongoing Bell Central road issues. During a previous meeting, the board requested two options for repairing the road — a complete repair total with a retaining wall and a repair with the minimal amount of work necessary to get the road in working order.

There were also four alternate items requested including mill of the parking lot, sub-grade repair and two different core drains.

As a result of further investigation, it the architects got some additional pricing for the complete repair option. The price of the retaining wall dropped in price from $775,000 to $500,000. The reason for the reduced price was due to some design modifications.

The architects did say they had major concerns with the stability of the hillside when it came to opening it up to install core drains for the minimal work project.

There was no action taken by the board on the issue. Chairman Kenneth Sams said he plans to go look at the site. The board plans to contact the architects at a later date.
