June 19, 2014

Since moving to the Live Music Capital of the world — Austin, Texas, Middlesboro native Jeff Hortillosa has achieved much success as a professional musician.

Hortillosa and his band Whiskey Shivers have played thousands of shows and various festivals, including Austin City Limits and Southby Southwest, toured on a national level and been featured on network television’s “No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain” and NBC’s “Revolution.”

In 2013, Whiskey Shivers was voted Austin’s best County/Bluegrass band and won runner up in 2014.

Hortillosa has shared the stage with the likes of Old Crow Medicine Show, Dierks Bentley, Ralph Stanley, the Rev. Horton Heat, Larry and his Flask, Delta Spirit and Deer Tick to name just a few.

Though largely focused on his band, Hortillosa continues to work as a solo artist in Austin and has traveled to perform his unique brand of folk music.

Hortillosa visits his home state of Kentucky for a series of shows and fun times with old friends. He will be performing at Angelo’s in the Gap in Cumberland Gap, Tenn., at 9 p.m. today and tomorrow.
