U.S. Senate hopeful Alison Lundergan Grimes made a stop in Middlesboro on Wednesday in an attempt to gain support from the community. Several local politicians and office holders were present during the gathering, as well as several individuals from the community. Grimes spoke briefly about her plans for the Senate seat. Those plans include raising the minimum wage to $10.10, eliminating the pay gap, investing in infrastructure, investing in tourism, diversifying the economy and many other things. Grimes is running against longtime Sen. Mitch McConnell.
