Residents, businesses asked to move vehicles on Cumberland Avenue

August 11, 2014

The concrete work at the intersection of 19th Street and Cumberland Avenue is complete and paving has begun.

The Kentucky Highway Department plans to mill Cumberland Avenue and repave it from the western end of town all the way to the intersection of U.S. 25E.

By Saturday morning, milling work will have reached the downtown Middlesboro area. All local residents and businesses are asked to move their vehicles out of the Cumberland Avenue parking places.

Work is based on a tight schedule and any vehicles left in the work zone will have to be removed at the owner’s expense. It is recommended that all vehicles be moved to the city parking lot on 20th Street.
