BIG STONE GAP, Va. — The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will host its weekly “Lunch on the Lawn” series at noon on July 24, featuring Chris Rose and Angel Mefford.
Chris Rose, an award-winning guitar player, has taught thousands of musicians from Wise County and surrounding areas. You don’t go far without hearing his name in conjunction with everything musical, and you don’t go far without someone saying “thank you” for what he has done for them.
Angel Mefford has been a singer at many different events over the years and has performed in many different genres. Her versatile range never fails to entertain audiences. When combined, they have over 50 years of musical talents to share.
The “Lunch on the Lawn” event is free and open to the public. Visitors may bring their own lunch or pre-order one from the park for $5 each.
This week’s featured menu is grilled hamburgers, chips, baked beans, cookie and choice of beverage. Orders must be made in advance by 4 p.m. each Thursday by calling the museum at 276-523-1322.
