Join the Jonesborough Genealogical Society and have a blast with the past at the East Tennessee History Fair. JGS will be among the many participants bringing history to life and sharing it with the public Aug. 15, as part of the East Tennessee Historical Society’s eighth annual History Fair.
Activities are free to the public and include a living history timeline, live music, historic crafts demonstrations, historical and genealogical groups from across the region, children’s crafts and activities, Davy Crockett’s birthday party, walking tours of downtown, Civil War bus tours and tours of Knoxville’s historic homes, tours of underground Gay Street, “History Hound” dog costume contest, free museum admission, Smoky Mountain film festival at the Tennessee Theatre, vintage baseball games at World’s Fair Park, art exhibits, miniature battles, traditional foods, book sales, farmers market and much more.
