Will a man and woman be able to stop an organization intent on using them as pawns in a global game of conspiracy? EWING, Va. — Local author Jeff Striker, of Ewing, Virginia, will debut his first novel “The Last Recruit” in “The Last” series in electronic format on Aug. 12 as part of Kellan Publishing’s new releases.

Striker has been working toward publication for two years while working with Childhelp, a non-profit organization dedicated to assist victims of child abuse. “A percentage of profits from sales will be used to support the organization,” Striker said.

Set in a variety of locations in North and South America, “The Last Recruit” is a contemporary story of James Walker, a career military man, caught in a conspiracy with Dr. Elizabeth Stevens. When he is brought into a secret project as a test subject, Jim must rely on Dr. Stevens, to get him out of the mess without further bloodshed resulting from other ‘recruits’. When he discovers his family could be at stake, Jim and Elizabeth are thrust into working together. Searching various research sites, the duo must save everyone they possibly can before the project can bear any of its deadly fruits.

Jen Lilley from NBC’s Days of Our Lives said, “Jeff’s tale weaves shreds of truth into fiction, making for a strong and compelling read … in fact, the storyline is compelling enough to cause even the most serious [of] readers to become immersed in the story.”
