Middlesboro ARH Hospital will host its women’s health series, Lunch & Learn, on Aug. 27. Ladies in the community are invited to the luncheon, which offers insight and tips on a variety of women’s health issues.
Joseph Slusher, M.D. radiology and chair of the Middlesboro ARH Stroke Committee at MARH, will speak on the risks, signs and symptoms of stroke.
Dr. Slusher earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky School Of Medicine. He then completed a one-year internship in Muncie, Indiana, followed by a four-year radiology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Slusher received special training in minimally invasive procedures that use imaging for guidance, including both CT and ultrasound guided biopsies.
Born and raised in Bell County, he joined the medical staff at Middlesboro ARH Hospital in 2014.
The luncheon will be held in the hospital classroom, located near the MRI entrance at the back of the hospital. Lunch will be served at noon with the program slated from 12:15-12:45 p.m. There will also be a drawing for an iPad shortly after the program.
