Southeast Scholars visit Washington

The Southeast Scholars program, operated by Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College, is for local students in seventh through 12th-grade. Its mission is to assist and encourage first-generation college students to stay in school and also improve their readiness to enter college. Congressman Barr, from Kentucky’s sixth district, spoke to the students about the role of the House of Representatives in U.S. government and also spoke of the importance of SKCTC to the state. The program is under the direction of Sandra Brown.
