Bell County Public Library District
The mission of the Bell County Library System is to provide information access to all Bell Countians using a variety of resources from books housed in the Middlesborough and Pineville Libraries to Internet access and online databases that are provided through Kentucky Virtual Libraries. Making reading fun and challenging for adult and younger patrons is also a priority for the staffs. They accomplish this through programs such as Mondays R for Murder, Booked for Lunch, Summer Reading Programs, computer classes, the bookmobile services and many other fun and exciting program.
Both libraries provide what is considered traditional library services, books, movies, audio books and music CD's which can be checked out. In addition to these collections, both libraries house excellent genealogy and local history collections, and provide access to Ancestry.com, which can only be accessed at the library, and ProQuest.com, another genealogy database that can be accessed anywhere by using your library card. Both libraries also offer free wifi access, access to E-books and audio books, free music downloads using your library card, public access computers,community rooms available to the public, and fun and inviting programs throughout the year. The Middlesborough Library, located at 126 South 20th Street, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Pineville Library, located at 214 Walnut Street, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
