The Bell County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a one-vehicle wreck with injuries approximately five miles from U.S. 25E on KY 92 Friday morning.
Bell County Sheriff Mitch Williams said the tractor and trailer coal truck appeared to have lost control in a curve, crossing the center line. The vehicle rolled over on the roadway and slid off the embankment. The driver was pinned in the vehicle for over an hour.
Williams said members of the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department, EMS and the Bell County Rescue Squad extracted Charles Scott Brooks from the vehicle. Due to his injuries, Brooks was transported by Air Evac to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
The wreck is under investigation by Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement.
