An evening of style, grace and entertainment will be in store as the annual Miss Southeast Scholarship Pageant returns to Harlan County.
The event, set to be held at the Harlan County High School auditorium, will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 18.
The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship to Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College along with a crown and sash. In addition, the winner will represent SKCTC at the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival Pageant in Pineville this May.
Contestants will be judged on her on-stage question, talent and poise and presence displayed during the evening gown segment of the pageant. Additionally, contestants will be interviewed by a panel of judges prior to the beginning of the event.
Longtime faculty member Carlton W. Hughes will serve as master of ceremonies. At the conclusion of the evening, the 2017 Miss Southeast will be crowned and trophies will be awarded to the first and second runner-up as well as the winner of the talent segment and to the Miss Congeniality victor.
Admission to the event is free.
