CORBIN — Kentucky State Police Trooper Jay Sowders arrested two Woodbine men on Wednesday. The men were arrested in connection with a burglary that occurred in Knox County on July 28.
Steve Allan Jones, 33, and Thomas Cupp, 26, are behind bars in the Knox County Detention Center. The men are being held on the charges of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking over $500.
A previous release stated, Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan received a phone call on July 28, at 7:30 p.m. about a burglary in the Corbin Community of Knox County. Kentucky State Police Trooper Sammy Farris responded and began an investigation.
Details released about the investigation were that on July 28, at approximately 4 p.m. two unknown white male individuals broke into a warehouse. The warehouse was located off of Liberty Church Road in the Corbin community of Knox County.
According to the release, while the two men were inside the warehouse, they stole several new refrigerator unit condensers. The men were able to load the refrigerator unit condensers by putting them onto a dolly that was hooked up to a green Honda Rancher ATV. One of the individuals involved in the burglary was operating a black SUV that was parked a short distance from the burglary.
The case was under investigation by Farris and photos of the burglary were shared via numerous media venues. The public was asked to help identify the two individuals and information on the green four wheeler and black SUV. Anyone with information was asked to contact Post 10 Harlan at 606-573-3131.
The two men had not been arraigned at press time.
