The wife of the former Dream Furniture employee who was arrested last month for allegedly stealing nearly $30,000 worth of furniture is now behind bars at the Bell County Detention Center after police served a complaint warrant which said she helped her husband in the thefts on several different occasions.
Ashley N. Collins, 26, of Middlesboro, was arrested at the Bell County Courthouse on Tuesday shortly before 2 p.m. for her alleged role in the theft of the furniture. Joshua Collins, 29, also of Middlesboro, was in court on Tuesday for his charges. Joshua was arrested on July 23 and was held on a $50,000 cash bond, which he made on July 24.
According to the arrest citation, Ashley assisted her husband in the theft of $28,584 worth of furniture from his workplace, Dream Furniture. Ashley allegedly directed Joshua on several occasions of what particular items to steal. She also set up the sale and delivery of the items to other people by Josh.
Ashley is being held on a $50,000 cash bond and at press time remained in the Bell County Detention Center.
In other police news, Sgt. Joe Holder arrested a Middlesboro man and woman on criminal complaint warrants for trafficking in methamphetamine.
* Lisa Lester, 49, was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center on Monday. Lester is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
* Larry D. Wilson, 43, was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center on Tuesday. Wilson is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
