Middlesboro Daily News employees spent the day on Friday moving to their new office location at 1275 North 25th Street.
The new location is very easily found — simply turn at the light at Walmart and head toward Binghamtown, continue through the four-way stop by Green Hills Funeral Home, toward Binghamtown and 25th street and there will be a group of houses. On the right there is a metal building with a large, handicap accessible parking lot — this is the new home of the Middlesboro Daily News. Red, temporary signage is up to let customers know this is the new location.
Civitas Media General Manager for the Middlesboro Daily News, Harlan Daily Enterprise and Claiborne Progress Cynthia Orr says the staff is excited about the new office space, citing modernization and functionality for all departments.
“We are excited that the Middlesboro Daily News is moving into our new office space,” said Orr. “We look forward to having a more modern, functional space for editorial, advertising, circulation and customer service departments.”
Orr explains the move is just another step in the right direction of looking for ways to better serve the readers.
“We will continue seeking opportunities to provide local and community news and information to our readers, in print and online formats,” continued Orr.
Plans for an open house are in the works and Orr invites everyone in the community to come see the newspaper’s new home.
“We will be announcing plans for a future open house, as soon as we get unpacked and settled in,” said Orr. “Our hope is that you will come by and see our new home in your community at that time.”
Orr says the Middlesboro Daily News is proud to continue serving the Bell County community, and proud to be a continued source of information,” Orr said.
Daily News customers can begin using the new location on Monday during the regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
