A Harlan County man was arrested for DUI on Monday in Corbin following a crash.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root reported that Deputy Kyle Gray arrested Lloyd Saylor, 56, of Bledsoe on Monday. The arrest occurred on West Cumberland Gap Parkway, approximately 11 miles south of London after Gray was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in front of Corbin Walmart. When Gray arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, he determined that a blue colored Oldsmobile Cutlass traveling northbound on South Stewart Road had apparently ran a red light at the intersection of South Stewart Road and Cumberland Gap Parkway and struck a Chevrolet car traveling westbound on West Cumberland Gap Parkway, driven by Jarrett Neal, of Harrodsburg. Both drivers received possible minor injuries but refused treatment.
Root said Saylor, the driver of the blue colored Oldsmobile Cutlass, was determined to be under the influence and was arrested. Saylor was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, disregarding a traffic control device — traffic light and numerous other traffic violations.
Saylor was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Saylor was also charged on a Woodford County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to comply regarding a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
Assisting at the scene of the crash was West Knox Volunteer Fire Department.
