Main Street Pineville’s annual Kidsfest is scheduled for Saturday and organizers have been busy preparing for the yearly event. This year’s Kidsfest promises to be bigger and better than ever, with new additions added to the event that has become one of the foundations for MSP. Downtown Pineville has become an artist’s pallet as volunteers decorate for the event and vendors have been busy gathering prizes to hand out to the kids.
Beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, kids can come to the courthouse square for inflatables, activities and prizes. At 12:15 p.m. MSP will begin encouraging people to go inside of the Bell Theater for a free movie. The movie is scheduled to begin at 12:30 and MSP is providing free popcorn for all those in attendance.
Hot dogs will be served beginning at 11 a.m. and are free for all children in attendance.
In anticipation of the event, Kentucky Avenue will be closed on the courthouse square beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday. The road is expected to re-open around 1 p.m., after the vendors have had a chance to dismantle their booths.
Vendor check in begins at 9 a.m. under the Bell Theater marquee. Each space will be pre-assigned and there will be MSP volunteers on hand to lead vendors to their spaces. Each vendor, organization or business is required to bring their own supplies — tents, activities, prizes, etc., but MSP can provide a table for vendor areas if they are notified of the need by Friday. MSP will not be able to provide activities or prizes for any organization this year.
MSP wants to remind all vendors that in previous years, guest have shown up early, so they may need to plan accordingly.
Any vendor who is selling items is required to pay a $25 fee to MSP.
Those interested in possibly being a vendor can message Jacob Roan on the Main Street Pineville Facebook page or email [email protected] for a vendor application. Each organization participating in KidsFest is required to fill out a brief application.
