BARBOURVILLE — Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan responded to a call Saturday that a male individual had been shot. Troopers Chad Gregory, Jonathan Carlock, Josh Messer and Det. Jason York, along with deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, were dispatched to 322 Turner Loop Road in the Barbourville community of Knox County.
According to the press release, once troopers arrived on the scene, they located Ford Collett, of Barbourville, who had been shot by Jason Marsee, also of Barbourville.
The preliminary investigation indicates Collett came to Marsee’s residence and an altercation took place. Collett suffered a single gunshot wound and was transported by Knox County EMS to the Knox County Hospital. He was later flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Collett’s condition is not known at this time.
Marsee was arrested at the scene after troopers discovered he had an outstanding warrant not related to the incident. At this time Marsee has not been charged for the shooting. This case will be presented to a Grand Jury in Knox County. York is continuing the investigation.
