A Middlesboro man was arrested for allegedly robbing an individual walking down Cumberland Avenue.
According to the arrest citation, Kenneth Wayne Williams, 35, of Middlesboro, pulled up alongside a male while he was walking east on Cumberland Avenue on the north side of the street. Williams was eastbound and pulled across traffic to pull up alongside the male and accused him of working for law enforcement. Williams then pulled out while the male was still walking eastbound, pulled up again and grabbed the males cell phone and hand in an attempt to take it.
The citation states Williams then drug the male along side his car and then ran over his left hand. Lt. Tom Busic observed the male fall away from Williams car and roll. Busic then observed Williams make a u-turn and come back in the direction of the male who threw an object at the vehicle. Williams then sped off, Busic stopped the vehicle and retrieved the cell phone.
Williams was also charged with three counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. According the the citation, Williams had two $10 bills and one $20 bill in his wallet, separate from his regular money.
In other police news, Amanda Turner, 36, of Middlesboro, was served five bench warrants, two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and two counts possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest citation, Middlesboro Police Officer Brad Cawood arrested Turner for having 10 and ¾ Suboxone sublingual films, 11 Bunavail buccal films, and two baggies of a crystal substance on her person.
In unrelated arrests, two Middlesboro resident were charged with methamphetamine-related crimes.
* Brenda Rainey, 40, of Middlesboro, was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance by Middlesboro Police Officer Keith Lowe. According to the arrest citation, Rainey had a baggie in her possession containing a crystal rocky like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
* Lloyd Steven Knuckles, 41, of Middlebsoro, was charged by Middlesboro Police Officer Barry Cowan with trafficking greater than 2 grams of methamphetamine, first- and second-degree trafficking a controlled substance and failure to wear a seat belt.
The citation states, Cowan was stopped at the stop sign located at 38th Street and KY 74 when he noticed Knuckles not wearing a seat belt. Cowan conducted a stop around 35th Street and KY 74. A search of the vehicle and its contents resulted in a clear Ziploc bag containing 45 grams of crystal meth, several empty clear Ziploc bags, an official pool player card with his name on it, 24 tablets identical in appearance believed to be hydrocodone, five Xanax and four clonazepam.
* Dallas L. Webb, 47, of Hulen, was charged as a second-degree persistent felony offender, flagrant non support and served five bench warrants for court.
