‘The Stephen Foster Story’ celebrates Kentucky Night

BARDSTOWN —The Stephen Foster Drama Association is offering a discounted ticket price to any Kentuckian who would like to see “The Stephen Foster Story” at 8 p.m. on June 28.

Ticket prices will be $10 for adults – a savings of $9 per ticket – and $5 for children between the ages of 6 and 12 (a savings of $6 per ticket). All children five and under are admitted free.

“The Stephen Foster Story” is the Official Outdoor Musical of Kentucky and is in its 57th year of production at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown. The show tells the story of America’s greatest composer, Stephen Collins Foster, who wrote classics like “Oh! Susanna,” “Camptown Races,” “Beautiful Dreamer” and our state song, “My Old Kentucky Home.” “Kentuckians love tradition, and we want to provide an opportunity for every resident of this state to see the show,” said Billy Bass, media coordinator.

“I’ve spoken to many audience members over the past year that had seen the production 40 or 50 years ago, and now they want to give their kids and grandkids the same experience they had as a child. This place is special, and it means so much to the folk’s right here at home.”

Tickets for the June 28 Kentucky Night performance may be purchased at the box office by calling 800-626-1563. Visit www.StephenFoster.com for a full schedule of shows, concerts and events for the 2015 season.
