A Middlesboro man was arrested Thursday after officers with the Middlesboro Police Department say they found him with three juveniles, a handgun, marijuana and Subutex.
Ryan S. Wyrick, 22, of Middlesboro, was arrested for unlawfully providing/permitting a minor to possess a handgun, two counts of second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, two counts of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces and second-degree possession of a controlled substance.
According to the arrest citation, the juveniles, who were out after curfew, stated that Wyrick gave them a handgun to hide under the seat when the vehicle was stopped. In addition to the fire arm, Wyrick allegedly had marijuana in two separate baggies, $273 in cash, rolling papers and one half of a white round tablet believed to be Subutex.
In other police news, Jason A. Aldridge, 32, of Middlesboro, was arrested after allegedly shoplifting multiple times at Walmart.
According to the arrest citation, Aldridge took $230 in merchandise from Walmart without paying for it on July 4 and returned on July 5 and took $273.48 and $602.64 in merchandise without paying for it. Aldridge was also charged with second-degree trespassing for being on Walmart property on July 8 after being banned from Walmart for prior shoplifting charges. Aldridge was also served two bench warrants.
