Moe, Murray arrested on theft charges

Middlesboro Police arrested a man on Thursday who allegedly broke into an apartment and vandalized it.
Mike R. Evans, 33, of Middlesboro, was arrested by officer Chuck Bruce and charged with second-degree burglary.
According to the arrest citation, officers received a call at an apartment in Happy Hollow. The caller said a male, later identified as Evans, was seen entering the apartment through a window.
The citation states when police arrived, it was discovered that the apartment had been vandalized in the downstairs area. Once upstairs, Bruce found Evans going through the closet in the front bedroom. The room had been vandalized, police said.
Evans was also charged with a parole violation. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
In other police news, MPD arrested two individuals on Wednesday after they allegedly stole a 14-carat gold ring with a round cut 1-carat diamond.
Easter J. Murray, 24, of Middlesboro, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000.
Marcus F. Moe, 24, of Middlesboro, was charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500.
According to the citation, Moe took the ring, which was valued at $2,000 from the residence of Kim Goodin while working inside her residence. Murray took the ring to Middlesboro Pawn Shop and sold it for $70 for Moe, who place said is her boyfriend.
Both individuals received a $2,500 bond.
They were lodged at the detention center.
Officer Josh Burchett arrested Justin A. Norris, 26, of Pineville, on a felony possession charge on Tuesday. Norris was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The citation states Norris had a loaded needle in his possession. Inside the needle was a liquid substance, which was identified as Roxycodone. Norris also had three empty capsules of Kadian.
Police said they also found a spoon, needle and cigarette filter in Norris’ possession. These are used in the illegal consumption of narcotics.
Norris was also served two bench warrants. Bond was set at $2,500 bond.
