The Bell County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man in the Blackmont community of Bell County on trafficking charges Wednesday.
Michael Shane Reynolds, 33, of Hulen, was arrested by Deputy Jared Smith and charged with first-degree trafficking a controlled substance and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
According to the press release, the Bell County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant on a trailer in Blackmont. Sheriff Bruce Bennett said deputies searched a camper trailer on U.S. 119 near the Harlan County line after receiving several complaints of drug activity in the area.
Reynolds was lodged at the Bell County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond.
Bennett said while they were in the area, deputies came in contact with a group of people standing on KY 72. Three individuals were arrested as a result.
Patrick Phipps, 23, of Harrogate, Tenn., and Mark Anthony Boggs, 52, of New Tazewell, Tenn., were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence. Sylvia Hancock, 39, of Wallins Creek, was served a warrant out of Harlan County.
Phipps, Boggs and Hancock were lodged in the detention center following their arrest. Deputies participating in the raid were Shane Stewart, Joel Quillen, Carl Frith, Patrick Brooks and Smith.
