Right Fork School Center’s EXPLORE test scores are at the top in Bell County for the second consecutive year.
EXPLORE is part of the ACT (American College Test) Program.
EXPLORE is nationally normed and standardized at the appropriate grade levels with questions that correlate to the curriculum.
The EXPLORE test is taken by all eighth-graders throughout the state in the fall and assesses English, mathematics, reading and science.
Right Fork’s composite score of 16.6 places them first overall in the Bell County School District. The eighth-graders also exceeded the national average of 15.5.
The following six students received a perfect score of 25 in one or more areas: Sadie Blevins, English and reading; Alex Sizemore, English and reading; Lexie Brock, English; Alyssa Hillman, English; Kayla Smith, English; and Logan Strunk, English.
“We are very pleased with these results,” said Principal Renee Howard. “This is proof of the effort our students and teachers are putting forth and the positive impact it has on our academic growth.”
These students will be treated to a bowling trip to Hillcrest Lanes and a buffet lunch at Pizza Hut in Middlesboro.
