If you haven’t purchased your ticket for a chance to win a houseboat vacation on Lake Cumberland, you still have time.
Tickets are on sale and will remain on sale until the day of the grand prize drawing on July 11, at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset.
The winning ticket is scheduled to be drawn at 10:30 a.m. on that day during the second and final week of the 2014 Rogers Scholars graduating class. The winner does not have to be present to win, and will be notified by telephone immediately following the drawing.
The Houseboat Vacation package is valued at up to $3,500 based on seasonal rates and includes a $200 fuel allowance.
This is the sixth year Conley Bottom Resort, one of Southern Kentucky’s premier marinas, has partnered with The Center for the Houseboat Vacation Giveaway fundraiser that benefits Rogers Scholars, a summer youth leadership program for upcoming high school juniors in southern and eastern Kentucky.
Tickets are $5 each.
Call 606-677-6000, email email@example.com, or stop by The Center from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 2292 South U.S. 27 (at Traffic Light 15) in Somerset to purchase tickets.
Rogers Scholars is a state-recognized program and partners with 17 colleges and universities to provide exclusive college scholarship opportunities to high school students within The Center’s 45-county primary service area so that “no young person should have to leave home to find his or her future.”
The program encourages Rogers Scholars graduates to return to the region after they graduate college and build their careers in southern and eastern Kentucky.
The value of the vacation prize will be subject to seasonal rates, and is considered taxable income to the winner, which will be reported to the U.S. Government and the winner on Form 1099. Exemption Number EXE0001356 has been assigned to The Center for Rural Development for this and other fundraising efforts.
