Many events are scheduled at the Middlesboro Little Theater this spring, including the classic play “The Odd Couple” beginning March 19.

“The Odd Couple” details the lives of a compulsive neat freak and a chronic snob who move in together. Living with one another gets interesting as everyday conversations turn into daily headbutting with comedic relief.

The play version of this comedy is based on the original but will include females, Olive and Florence, in the leading roles instead of Oscar Madison and Felix Unger.

“I predict that our audience will be ready for a light, frothy comedy as winter thaws, especially considering that Frankenstein was such an intense drama,” said MLT Director Amy Simpson.

Auditions for Neil Simon’s play will be Jan. 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. in the Middlesboro Public Library community room.

Parts are available for six women and two men with ages ranging from young adults to late 30s.

Performances will be from March 19-23 with evening performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students and can be purchased by calling Amy Simpson at 606-499-4060.
