The Bell County 109 Board has completed the 2014-1015 recycling grant. The total grant request was for $75,050.


Within the grant, the board requested $24,335 for a HP Shredder with conveyor, steel cutter, crating and freight. The board also requested in the grant $26,400 for three national recycling trailers.


For the grant, the board requested eight cardboard mini-cyclers for $12,600 and two cardboard recycling trailers for $9,600.


The total for advertising came to $2,115. That total includes advertising with Hometown TV and signage for new trailers to advertise products, business and products recycled.


The board has received a letter from the Division of Waste Management. The letter states the board is in compliance with the 2013-2017 Solid Waste Management Plan. It also states the county met the reporting requirements for the Litter Abatement Grant.


The board received a 2014 Litter Abatement Grant in the amount of $37,816.54. Litter abatement funds are used for the cleanup of litter along public roads.
