A Leslie County man is dead following an early morning wreck near Krystal. According to Bell County Coroner Jay Steele, Arnold Harris, 55, of Yeaddis, died from injuries sustained from the wreck.
According to Middlesboro Officer Jordan Hurd, police received a call around 8:30 a.m. of a wreck in the channel between Krystal and the old Captain D’s building. The officer said it appears the vehicle was headed toward U.S. 25E when it went over the embankment, flipped at least once and came to rest on its top in the channel.
Hurd said the vehicle had Harris and a female in it at the time of the wreck. Both were transported to Middlesboro ARH Hospital.
Harris was pronounced dead by deputy coroner Steve Robinson at the hospital. Hurd said the female did not sustain any major injury and has since been released from ARH.
Hurd said there is no information as to what caused the wreck, and the incident is still under investigation by him.
Middlesboro Fire Department and EMS also responded to the wreck.
