Mrs. Anna Nora Allison, age 80 of Tazewell, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord and Savior very peacefully at her home with family by her side after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s on October 29, 2012. She graduated from Farragut High School and ETSU. She taught several years in the Knox County school system. Mrs. Allison was a charter member of Olivet Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Clark Allison; parents, Homer and Florence Selvidge; sister, Dorothy Greene.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, George Herbert Allison of Tazewell, Tenn., who she married on June 18, 1956; daughter, Janet Allison and special friend Marvin Thomas of Tazewell; caregivers, Betty Rowland and Jennifer Trent; sister, Mildred Roberts of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; brother-in-law Malcolm Allison of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Lillie Annie Bradshaw, June Allison and Juanita Allison, all of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. at the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Eddie Overholt officiating. Music will be provided by Glenna Hodges. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City, Tenn.

Pallbears will be Nickolas Allison, Darin Long, David Oaks, Tom Rison, Rick Rowland and Mike Roberts. The honorary pallbears will be Randall Smith, Mike Beason, Jason Bull, John Lee McCarter, Malcom Allison and Lowell Allison.
