Donna Carol Whitaker, age 67, of Cumberland Gap, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Claiborne County Hospital. She was born October 31, 1945 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of the late John Thomas Parker and Lucille West Parker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Whitaker and her grandparents, Harry and Arsie West.
She is survived by her children, John Allen Parker, Scarlett (Bruce Miller) Whitaker, Sylvia “Buffy” Mike Nelson, and Susan Whitaker; very special grandchildren: Jonathan and Whitney Whitaker; sisters: Pat (Paul) Snyder, Brenda Collett, and Charlene (David) Smith; very special friends: Gayle Rowlett, Kathy Coleman, Jim Mills, Jim O’Neal, James Daryl Capps, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral service will be 8 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Collinsworth officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
