Pine Mountain State Park held a public meeting on Wednesday to discuss the possibility of organizing a “Friends of Pine Mountain” group. This group would be defined as a nonprofit, tax exempt organization. According to Stephen Eastin, park manager, the group would conduct fundraisers, provide volunteer services, assist with resource management and preservation as well as publicize important matters for the park. The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25, at the lodge in the Ray Harm Room.
