Grant Helton Jr., 76 of Stoney Fork, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 27, 2012. He was born in Bell County, Ky. on July 14, 1936, a son of the late Grant and Lizzie Brock Helton. Mr. Helton was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church and a retired mechanic with the State Highway Department. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, great-grandfather and friend who loved the outdoors and hunting for ginseng.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Margie Neal, Virgie Brock, Lotishie Wilson, Matilda Swain, Welburn Ronnie Helton, John Dee Helton, Jack Helton Clinton “Hoss” Helton and Laura Key.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha Mae Lawson Helton; children, Carolyn Sue Helton, Michael Dean Helton, Thelma Jean Caldwell and husband, Doyle and Grant Roger Helton and wife, Charlotte; grandchildren, Tabatha Helton Blevins, Lindsey Caldwell Couch, Christopher Helton, Rebecca Helton Blevins, Sonny Lee Caldwell and Jessica Helton; great-grandchildren, Raegan, Carson and Brantley; brother, Jim Bo Helton and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Sowders and Mr. Ted Wilder. Music will be by Demus Couch. Burial will follow in the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens with family and Friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Helton Family. Light a virtual candle and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
