She was born in Cary, Ky., on Aug. 18, 1919, the daughter of the late Ellis and Etta Wilson Howard. She believed in the Baptist Faith and had been a cook for Bell Whitley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Hazel Shelton and Bob Miller of Westland, Mich., Ada “Boots” and James Tedders of Westland, Mich., Debra and David Akers of Warsaw, Ky., and Don and Sylvia Price of Pineville; grandchildren, Tonya Brooks, Bradley and Becky Akers, Mikie Brooks, Diana Anderson, Mark Price, Amy Swisher, Connie Beyers, Sandra Kellums, James Lee Tedders and Carol DiSolvo; brother, Lowell Howard and his wife, Helen of Middlesboro; and a host of niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pineville Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. William Boyd Bingham III presiding. Music will be by Luther Adkins.
Pallbearers will be Brad Akers, Steve Kellums, James Lee Tedders, Mark Price, Nicholas Beyers and Scott DiSolvo.
