FLAT LICK — Jacqueline “Jackie” Gambrel Warren, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the Pineville Community Hospital.
Born in Knox County, Ky., on May 17, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Myrtle Hodge Gambrel. She was a member of the Straight Creek Pentecost Holiness Church and had been a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother and sisters, James Gambrel, Dorothy Irvin, Annie Shockey and Darlene Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Carson Warren; children, Carolyn Saylor of Flat Lick, Ralph and Mickey Warren of Bimble, Teresa and Howard Butler of Flat Lick, and Rachel Johns of London; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Faye Lawson of S. Lebanon, Ohio, Edith and Boyd Warren of Indianapolis, Ind., Betty Burnett of Kettle Island, Ben and Shirley Gambrel of Lexington, Bobby and Patsy Gambrel of Middlesboro, and Glen and Vivian Gambrel of New Tazewell, Tenn.; uncle, Bob Hodge of Detroit; aunt, Lois Daughtery of Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Straight Creek Pentecost Holiness Church with the Rev. George Neal, the Rev. John Neal, the Rev. David Asher, the Rev. Jonathan Marcum and the Rev. Thomas Bishop officiating. Music will be by the Church.
Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro with Johnny Gray, Jason Butler, Daniel Warren, Jonathan Price, Mike Wagers and David Philpot serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m.Thursday and all day Friday at the Straight Creek Pentecost Holiness Church.
