MIDDLESBORO — Joyce Faye Browning, age 67, passed away Friday, October 30, 2009, at the Park West Medical Center, Knoxville, Tenn. She was born May 1, 1942, in Tazewell, Tenn., the daughter of the late Desmond and Lucy Ann Hatfield Partin. She was a member of Hensleys Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Browning; her brothers, Cecil, Ray and Bobby Partin; and her sister, Ruth Partin.
She is survived by her sons, James Marcum and Sam (Rebecca) Browning; her daughter, Charlotte Partin; her sisters, Margie (Lawrence) Waldroop, Gladys Buttery, Genva Paul, and Thelma Turner; her brother, Bruce Partin; her grandchildren, LeeAnn Waldroop, Samantha Bowen, Jonathan Marcum, James Marcum II, Joey Miracle, Delina Marcum, and Austin and Peyton Browning; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Hannah Bowen, Abrenna and Jacob, Tori and Emily Marcum; special friends, Jacque and Chris Loveday, Tina Wilson, Sue Gibson, Glen Bolton, host of friends from Wal Mart; and special caregivers Dr. C.A. Moore and Julia Blocker.
Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Murphy Buell officiating. Music will be provided by Kay Carroll, Lady Ward, and Betty Buell.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, at Browning Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bart Gent, Jason Honeycutt, Joey Miracle, Jonathan Marcum, Arlo Moyers, and Chris Parks.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
