Officials from Lincoln Memorial University welcomed 64 Japanese high school students and two instructors to campus on Friday.

The group arrived late Thursday evening after traveling from Tokyo, Japan. For the next seven weeks the students from Kanto International Senior High School will be participating in the International Studies (the Japanese Program) at LMU.

The program has as its foundation the study of conversational English, English composition, speech, reading, American history, music, and other courses that Kanto students study while at LMU. The three basic components of the program are academic, social cultural and home-stay.

LMU President Dr. Nancy B. Moody, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services Judy Beal and Dean of Students Frank Smith welcomed the group to campus.
