Born February 18, 1928, in Hazard, Ky., he was the son of the late Robert and Susie Shelton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Cora Sims, Mildred Shelton, Gladys Gaylor; and one brother, James Shelton.
After the passing of Rev. Archie Gaylor and Gladys Gaylor who raised him, Geraldine Brock became his special caretaker and guardian.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alonzo Miracle and the Rev. David Dunn presiding. Music will be provided by Eddie Johnson.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Wright, Rick Baker, Jeff Bowlin, Larry Pressnel, Wayne Baker and Dale Kidwell.
The family of Mr. Shelton will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel.
Creech Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements
