Mabel Welch, 80, of Jonesville, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Lee County, a retired school teacher and was a member of the Galilee Christian Church.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Lee and Roxie Welch; brothers, Carl Welch and Lawrence Welch; and great niece, Haley Welch.

She is survived by: nephews, Terry Welch and wife Sonya and William Welch and wife, Tami; great nieces and nephews, Jordan, Faith, Holden and Jade Welch; sister-in-law, Thelma Welch; special friend and caregiver, Wanoka Faulkner; her special telephone community of friends and relatives.

Visitation will be from 6–8 p. m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville. Funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Richard McFarland and Rev. Homer Blanken officiating.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Virginia. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to time of service.
