She was a lifelong resident of Lee County and a member of Morgan Memorial United Methodist Church in Rose Hill, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Bill Wires and Wesley Roberts; parents, William and Vinia Cottrell; eight sisters, Nora Gibson, Rosa Mizner, Tina Fee, Cornie Harber, Laura Dean, Florence Dean, Dee Johnson, and Ida Lakins; two brothers, Vester and Homer Cottrell; three sons, Carl, Kenneth and Jimmy Wires; one grandson, Bubby Wires.
She is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Jim German, Rose Hill, VA; 5 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; special thanks to nephew, Bobby Harber.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Rose Hill. Funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Norman Clark and Rev. Robert Charles Long officiating.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Morgan Cemetery in Rose Hill. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. to go to the cemetery in procession.
