In loving memory of Nellie Payne, who went to be with the lord February 24, 2013 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. She was born March 23, 1940 in Chenoa, KY. She was a life long minister of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Pentecostal of Germantown, OH. Nellie was a faithful and loving mother and grandmother to her family and all who were blessed to have known her, but most of all to her lord Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Sally Crawford Baird; brother and his wife, J.B and Edith Baird.
Survivors include her loving husband, of 54 years Charles Payne of Fourmile, KY; son, Eddie (Brenda) of Pineville, KY; grandsons, Daniel Payne of Renlwindof Germany, Jacob Payne of Portland, OR, Jesse Payne of Sevierville, TN; brothers, James (Doris) Baird, Dolan (Sudie) Baird and John (Diane) Baird, all of Pineville, KY; sisters, Betty McGregor, Dorothy (J.W) Johnson, Linda (Danny) Hall all of Pineville, KY; sister-in-law, Brenda McKiddy of Harps Creek, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, special nephew and nieces David McGregor of Newport, MI, Tammy Middaugh of Pineville, KY and Sally Deming of Macedon, NY.
Funeral services for will be conducted in the chapel of the Brooks Durham Funeral Home on Friday March 1, 2013 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David McGregor, Rev. Bill Engle and Rev. Mike Liford. Music will be provided by Billy Baird and Lucy Smith. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Cupp, Raymond Garland, T.J Grubbs, Rev. Charles Henson and Rev. Harold Fuson.
The family would like to especially mention Dr. Steven Morgan, Dr. Ashutosh Lohe, Staff at Barbourville Dialysis Center, Dialysis Services of Pineville and Amedisys Home Health employees. The family will receive friends on Thursday February 28, 2013 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Brooks Durham Funeral Home which is honored to be serving the Payne family.
