HARROGATE, Tenn. — Peggy June “Cookie” Goins, age 63, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010, after a long illness. She was a faithful member of Gap Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Emma Mayes Cox; and brother, Hollis Wayne Cox.

Survivors include her loving husband, Cecil Goins, Harrogate; sons, James (April) Goins, Timothy Goins, all of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren, Jeremy, Andrew, Joe, Jennifer; brothers, Coy (Joan) Cox, Somerset, Ky., Don (Helen) Cox, Middleboro, Clarence (Joyce) Cox, Arthur, Tenn., Darrel (Wilma) Cox, New Tazewell, Tenn.; and sisters, Shirley Poore, Detroit, Mich., Geraldine Earle, Middlesboro, Betty (O'Neil) Johnson, London, Ky.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday at Reece Valley Chapel with the Rev. Chad Brudette, the Rev. Terry England and the Rev. Anthony Mountain officiating. Music will be by Jane Cox and Katie Chumley.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rowland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Eddie Chumley, Ron Ruth, Kenneth Day, Jim Bartley, Kyle Pritchard and Don Goins. Honorary pallbearers are Gap Creek Baptist Church Deacons.
