The Pineville Independent School facility committee met on Thursday to discuss a draft facility plan for the district. Bill Richardson, the architect for Pineville Schools, was on hand at the meeting to discuss recommended changes in the plan.

One of the changes placed in the facility plan involves the 1970 building section, a section in the elementary school. Richardson added a roof replacement in the plan for the building, which is also in need of major renovations including interior finishes, doors, windows, HVAC and lighting.

The entire project for the 1970 building section would cost around $1,040,000, according to the facility plan.

Another addition to the facility plan includes renovations on a 1981 section of the building, which includes areas in the high school. Those renovations include demolition, interior finishes, doors, windows, specialities, plumbing, electrical, fire annunciation system, lighting and the intercom system.

The facility plan states the 1981 section project would cost about $1,197,938.

One project which remains on the facility plan is the old Pineville gymnasium section of the building. That project includes demolition, roofing, interior finishes, doors, windows, specialities, plumbing, electrical, fire annunciation system, lighting, the intercom system and sound systems in the arts program.

According to the facility plan, the cost for the gym project is estimated to be around $1,136,304.

The 1993 section of the building, which encompasses grades 7-12, is in need of a roof replacement and ADA toilet renovations. The project would cost $142,270, according to the plan.

There were also two projects completed since the last facility plan was made. The Pineville School District build a new gym and provided lighting for the football field in 2011. Both projects combined were estimated to cost around $4.5 million.

The facility plan discussed at the meeting was a draft model. The plan has to be sent to the Kentucky Department of Education for approval.
