Spots open for LMU baseball camps

HARROGATE, Tenn. — Spots are still available for the Youth “Spring Training” Camp and the Prospect Skills Camps, Lincoln Memorial University head baseball coach Jeff Sziksai announced Monday morning. The deadline to register has been extended until all spots have been filled.

The Railsplitter Youth “Spring Training” Baseball Camp is scheduled to run this Friday and Saturday. The camp is opened to kids ages 5-12 and is designed to prepare youth players for the upcoming season. The camp will focus on the various fundamental skills of baseball such as hitting, pitching and defensive positional play. The price is $50 and all campers will be provided with a camp t-shirt as well as two days of instruction from the Lincoln Memorial staff and players. Walk ups are welcomed.

Spots are also still availabe for the Prospect Skills Camps, which are set to run on Saturday and Sunday. LMU will be offering both a Prospect Hitting Camp and a Pitcher/Catcher/Infielder Camp. The hitting camp will include an intense two-day session with work on the fundamentals of hitting as well as the mental approach to hitting. The P/C/INF Camp is designed to teach the fundamental concepts of pitching, catching and infield play. Individual camps are available for $89 or both are offered for the discounted price of $150. Walk ups are also welcomed for both Prospect Camps

The Lincoln Memorial University baseball team is set to kickoff the 2013 season on February 1st, as they open the season at University of South Carolina Aiken for the first of a three-game series against the Pacers. First pitch is knotted for 4 p.m. in Aiken, South Carolina.
