Staff Report

Two Middlesboro men are behind bars after allegedly breaking into a storage unit in downtown Middlesboro.

Dennis Otis Loop, 30, and Bradley Monroe Barnett, 23, were both arrested by officers from the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with third-degree burglary.

According to the arrest citation, the two allegedly broke into a storage building in the alley behind the Kentucky Utilities office, located off South 22nd street. The building possessed several motors.

According to the citation, a few of the motors had been moved to the doorway. A broken dolly was also found, which police assume was used to move the motors. Wet footprints were allegedly found inside the storage unit.

Barnett and Loop were spotted walking from the direction of the storage unit, according to the citation. The prints were allegedly similar to the shoes the two men were wearing.

Both men remain in custody at the Bell County Detention Center, according to the website.
