Virginia Pillion, age 87, of Tazewell was born January 28, 1918 and passed away Sunday, July 3, 2005 at the Claiborne County Nursing Home.

She was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents: Wilbur and Bessie Holmes; brother: Eldon Holmes; and sister: Mary Holmes.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years: Gillus Pillion of Tazewell; daughter: Janice Adams of San Francisco, Ca; step-daughter: Lois Pendergraft of Sioux Fall, Sd; step-son and wife: Cecil and Betty Pillion of Tazewell; special friends: Walter and Pearl Pillion of Tazewell, Joe and Reta Pillion of Springfield, Oh; and many other friends and loved ones.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 7 p.m. in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Rowe officiating. Music by Frances Payne and the Cave Springs Church Choir. Graveside services were Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Cave Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Wayne Rowland, Dewey Massengill, Glen Roark, Edgar Massengill, Glen Massengill, and Josh Smith.
