JONESVILLE, Va. — Willie Lawson Beaty, age 99, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2009, at Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center in Church Hill, Tenn.

A lifelong resident of Lee County, Va., she was a member of Morgan Memorial United Methodist Church, the Women’s Missionary Union, and the Rose Hill Homemakers Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel McDonald Beaty; her parents, Henry and Addie Lawson; and a daughter, Anna Marie Chance.

Surviving are her two sons, Billy Sam Beaty and wife, Sue of Ewing, Va., and Donald L. Beaty of London, Ky.; two daughters, Helen B. Holt and husband, Lowry of Maryville, Tenn., and Jan Rose Edds of Jonesville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Tassinger of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Rose Hill, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Darrell Marcum officiating.

Burial will follow in the Beaty Cemetery in Jonesville.
