Lady Panthers fall to Greeneville

HARROGATE, Tenn. — The young Cumberland Gap Lady Panthers were no match for Greeneville Friday. Reagan Lowery scored 20 points to lead five Lady Devils in double-figures in a 76-38 win.

Chelsea Bingham led Cumberland Gap with 13 points while Tessa Brooks added eight.

For Greeneville, Melissa Scott finished with 13 points, Olivia Hall 11, while Madison Shipley and Mindy Neas added 10 each.

The Lady Devils took control early as Shipley scored seven of her points in the first quarter and Madison Grubbs added four as Greeneville built a 17-7 lead. Bingham scored five and Brooks two in the opening period for the Lady Panthers.

Lowery scored 14 in the second quarter and the Greeneville lead grew to 38-15 by halftime. Bingham scored four in the second quarter for Cumberland Gap while Whitney Elliott and Genna Lake added baskets.

Ashley Ridgeley scored all five of her points in the third quarter for the Lady Panthers, Amber Craig added four and Elliott two. Lowery put in six more and Hall had four and the Lady Devils carried a 55-26 advantage into the fourth quarter.

The final period saw Brook hit a pair of 3-pointers for Cumberland Gap. Bingham added four points and Kierstyn Carmical also made a basket. But Greeneville continued to pull away behind 10 points from Scott and six from Neas. The Lady Devils went on to win by 38.

Both teams will be back in action Tuesday with Greeneville (3-2, 1-0) hosting South Greene and Cumberland Gap (0-3, 0-1) visiting Thomas Walker, Va.
